Utilising the best and most up to date technology is not new at Caley Print & Stationery but being disillusioned with the level of wastage and damage that our conventional litho printing equipment was doing to the environment and wanting to take a level of responsibility, we are proud to be one of the first companies to order and take delivery of a brand new state-of-the-art environmentally friendly DI printing press.

You all probably know that ISO14001 is an international standard that recognises a company for it’s EMS – Environmental Management System and more & more people look for the FSC symbol when selecting paper (to find out more - www.fsc-uk.org); however you may never have heard or been informed about DI printing….

Direct Imaging (DI) printing eliminates hazardous film and removes chemical waste. The printing plates used are imaged on press and are 100% recyclable, so the disposal problems associated with heavy metal printing plates is eliminated. DI printing is a waterless process; therefore fount and alcohol chemistry is not required and by using eco-friendly vegetable based inks we virtually eliminate our VOC emissions into the atmosphere - VOC’s are a major source of ozone pollution. High levels of automation, consumes less electricity and speeds up make-ready times which helps to reduce unavoidable production waste and ensures our clients get there printing quickly.

The installation of our DI printing press has changed the way we meet our clients’ demands for their printing. This proven state of the art technology produces high quality offset printing, in the least amount of time, with the least amount of waste and it can print from single colour to full colour but we’re not limited to paper and board stocks, the DI can print on labels, plastics, Tyvek and envelopes.
